Good afternoon, today The Sullivan City Police Dept hosted a Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Event. Thank you to the City of Sullivan City Mayor, Council members and our District Attorney Palacios for being present. This movement is a Powerful movement that involves the Community as whole. Our goal is to prevent Child Abuse and give every Child the Opportunity to live , grow up in a safe and healthy environment. Today we planted Pinwheels as a symbol of this Child Abuse prevention movement in which it reminds us of the Childhood and the bright futures all children deserve.


Buenas tardes, el dia de hoy el Departamento de Policia de la Ciudad de Sullivan City tuvieron un evento para brindar atencion a este movimiento en el cual la meta es prevenir el abuso infantil. Este movimiento desea brindar a toda la comunidad junta para poder combatir y prevenir el abuso infantil. La meta es poder darle la oportunidad a todo nino de vivir, crecer en un lugar seguro y saludable. Hay que brindar ayuda y esperanza para cada nino.
Hoy plantamos Molinillos, lo que es un simbolo que nos recuerda, de la infancia y los brillantes futuros que todos los ninos se merecen.


We would like to extend our gratitude to all the agencies that were able to join us which included Hidalgo County District Attorney’s office, La Joya Police Dept, Penitas Police Dept, Palmview Police dept, Texas Department of Public Safety, Alton Police Dept, Hidalgo Police Dept, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Constables Office, Utrgv Interns, Children’s Advocacy Center, DHR, Buckers Mission, Children’s Breavement Center. As well as the advocates and the Community members that were present.

Good afternoon, today our very own Chief Reynaldo Cortes Jr, along with Mayor Sylvia Castillo and Commissioner Isaac Sulemana attended a prestigious ceremony in which one of our very own, Jessalyn Salinas became a Certified Peace Officer after Successfully Completing her program at the Hidalgo Police Law Enforcement Academy. Congratulations Officer J. Salinas and Congratulations to Class of BPOC 104
A special thank you to Commissioner Ever Villarreal who was the Guest Speaker for the Ceremony.

Today on behalf of Chief Cortes and the Sullivan City Police Department we decided to give back to the Community Our Officers conducted multiple motor vehicle stops in which the drivers received Turkeys promoting safe driving and wishing the Community a safe and Happy Holidays🦃
