A Flood Watch is in effect from Monday - through Thursday June 18 at 7 a.m.

A Flood Watch is now in effect for all of Deep South Texas into Thursday morning, with estimated total rainfall amounts of 5-10 inches, and isolated amounts of 12 inches or more where heavier showers or thunderstorms persist.

Last night, our department responded to a structure fire within our community. Thanks to the rapid response, professionalism, and teamwork displayed by all agencies involved, crews were able to quickly address the incident and work toward protecting lives and property.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Commissioner Everardo "Ever" Villarreal for his continued support of our department. The recently acquired Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and breathing equipment provided to our firefighters were put into service during last night's fire and played a critical role in ensuring firefighter safety while operating in hazardous conditions.

We also want to recognize our firefighters and Sullivan City Police Department for their immediate response and dedication to serving our community. Their commitment, training, and coordinated efforts were instrumental throughout the incident.

Additionally, we extend our gratitude to the Palmview Professional Firefighters Association for their mutual aid assistance. Their support exemplifies the strong partnerships that exist between neighboring agencies and the importance of working together during emergency situations.

The safety of our community remains our highest priority. We thank all responding personnel for their hard work, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public service.

Today, May 4th, we honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every single day—our firefighters. 🚒🔥
International Firefighters’ Day is more than just a date. It’s a moment to remember the heroes we’ve lost, to thank those still serving, and to recognize the sacrifices made not only by them, but by their families as well.
From rushing into burning buildings to responding to emergencies when others are running away, firefighters embody courage, strength, and selflessness. Their commitment to protecting our communities does not go unnoticed.
Today, we stand in gratitude. We remember the fallen. We support the living. And we continue to respect the badge, the uniform, and the heart behind it all.

Due to ongoing heavy rainfall that has not stopped, flooding continues across multiple areas.

⚠️ Please stay off the streets unless absolutely necessary.

🚫 Do NOT attempt to drive through low-lying or flooded areas as you risk your vehicle taking in water, which can cause serious damage or leave you stranded.

🌧 Rainfall has not let up, and water levels need time to recede, so flooding conditions are expected to continue.

Please use caution, please stay home and stay safe.
