The Frenchman's Bay Library is very excited to announce that our new Kids Book Club will be taking place again this year, starting on September 18th!
We will “travel the world” studying art, literature, crafts, and games from a variety of countries, cultures, and regions. Each week we will explore somewhere new.

This program is most suitable for children ages 7 to 11. Mountain View School students and homeschoolers are strongly encouraged to join! We will meet every Thursday at 3:00, and pickup will be at 4:45. Mountain View students are able to take the bus from school to the library.

There are a very limited number of spots available, so if there are many applications, some children may be put on a waiting list.
If you have any questions, you can email us at [email protected] or call at (207) 422-2307.
Our hours:
Monday: 10 AM -2 PM
Tues and Thurs: 1 PM -5 PM
Saturday: 10 AM -2 PM
Applications are available at the library front desk, and the Mountain View School front desk, once school begins.

The Frenchman’s Bay Library is looking for new or used items to add to our “Library of Things”. In our Library of Things, patrons will be able to check out the items and use them for free. Then, the patron will return the item when it is due, just like checking out a book!
If you are interested in donating any items, give us a call at 207-422-2307, message us on Facebook, or email us at [email protected]

Tatiana Hlasko Tadenev is a watercolor artist who now spends her time in Sullivan, ME. Born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine, she discovered her love of art as a child through and experimental school program focused on drawing and painting.
Tatiana earned an MA in History and Social Studies from Kharkiv National University and went on to teach in Ukrainian schools. Over 30 years ago, she came to the United States as a refugee with her husband and children. Alongside the challenges of building a new life -- learning a new language, finding work, and earning a second MA in the Art of Teaching -- she continued to carry her passion for art, and went on to teach for decades in American elementary, middle, and high schools.
Since retiring, Tatiana has devoted herself fully to painting. When she isn't at her easel, she plays classical guitar, studies French, reads, gardens, and hikes -- pursuits that feed the same curiosity she brings to her art. She has also written and published several books.

If you are interested in Tatiana's art, please write to her at [email protected].
