Go Blue Family Award!

This award goes to two people who are always showing up for Sumner. They support student events and help out whenever they can from chaperoning to making baked goods - they always step up. Their generosity and willingness to lend a hand never go unnoticed. Thank you for being apart of our community!

Go Blue Staff Awards:

This staff member is a mentor and role model to many of our students, especially our student athletes. He’s always positive and keeps students' best interests at heart. He is always willing to listen, offer advice, and help students solve problems. He consistently shows up and makes students feel valued. He makes a huge impact as a basketball coach, always teaching his players much more than just the game. Sumner is a better place because of him. This Go Blue Award proudly goes to Xavier Tracey.

Although she is still fairly new to our school, this staff member has already made an incredible and lasting impact on students and staff. She goes above and beyond to make students feel supported academically, socially, and personally. She brings compassion into every interaction and works tirelessly to make sure every student feels seen and cared for. This Go Blue Award proudly goes to Mrs. Barry.

This teacher is truly a fan favorite and endless positivity. Students describe her as β€œthe light of the school.”. She brings positivity, compassion, and excitement into everything she does. She holds high expectations for her students while always making sure they are supported and cared for. No matter what kind of day someone is having, she has a way of putting a smile on their face and reminding them they matter. This Go Blue Award proudly goes to Ms. Ptashinsky.

This staff member is more than deserving of this award because of the constant care and support she provides to everyone around her. Whether a student is feeling sick, injured, overwhelmed, or simply needs a quiet and safe place to regroup, she is always stable and caring. She has a special way of making people feel cared for and comforted - even if it’s telling them good food and water will solve most of their problems! This Go Blue Award proudly goes to Nurse Bree.

This teacher consistently gives his best in everything he does and works hard to help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. He can make even the most challenging topics engaging, always encouraging students to push themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of. He is always there to support students when they struggle and just as ready to celebrate their accomplishments when they succeed. Beyond the classroom, he is also a legendary track coach who inspires perseverance and community in his athletes. His passion and commitment to students has made a lasting difference.
