Two Motorcycles Flee from Oak Grove Village Police on August 28
On August 28, 2026, officers with the Oak Grove Village Police Department were involved in an incident involving two motorcycles that fled from officers.
The motorcycles were observed fleeing on East Springfield Road before turning onto Highway W and continuing toward the Meramec Caverns area.
The motorcycles eventually split up near the entrance to Meramec Caverns. One motorcycle turned back toward Highway W and subsequently struck a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputy vehicle. The rider was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The second motorcycle continued in the opposite direction before crashing into a black gate. The rider then fled the scene on foot and initially remained at large.
On August 29, 2026, with assistance from the Sullivan Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and Probation and Parole, officers were able to locate the second rider involved in the incident. The rider was located through a GPS monitoring device as part of his Probation and Parole supervision.
Officers from the Oak Grove Village Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the address where the rider was located. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Franklin County Jail on an outstanding warrant.
