In Memory of Brian Schroeder
It is with great sadness that Greene County Ambulance Service shares the passing of Brian Schroeder, EMT who passed away on August 28, 2026 following an illness.
Brian dedicated his time to serving others as an EMT and was a valued member of the Greene County Ambulance Service family. His commitment to EMS, his fellow providers, and the citizens he served will not be forgotten.
During this difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to Brian’s family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives he touched.

Thank you, Brian, for your service and dedication to others. May you rest in peace. Your GCAS family will remember you always.

A special thank you to Thunderbird Fire Department, Northeast School Corporation, Carlisle Ambulance, Recovery Towing, and Holmes Memorial Chapel for your time, support, and collaboration. Your involvement played a vital role in creating a powerful and impactful learning experience for our students and community.

Events like this would not be possible without strong partnerships, and we are grateful for each of you who helped bring this important message to life.

Most of you probably know our EMT, George!

George has been doing this EMS thing for a whole 24 years..… so yeah, if there’s a call type out there, he’s probably seen it twice, and handled it better than most…

Why’s he stuck around so long?
Simple….he actually likes helping people… and somehow still enjoys the chaos that comes with the job.

What keeps him at S**T?
According to George, it’s a great place to work and he gets to serve in the community he lives in, which means there’s a decent chance he knows at least one person on every call …..

When he’s not on the truck, you’ll find him outside with his family or shooting archery….

We appreciate everything you do, George, even if you make the rest of us look bad after 24 years of experience.
