The students are gone, but the LSCEF was able to get a few things purchased before they left for the year! New ‘brains’ for the SMARTboards in the elementary classrooms and new iPad charging stations. It’s been a great year of supporting students and staff. Enjoy the summer!

We presented four students from each K-5th grade classroom with Handwriting Certificates this morning. This is in honor of Nancy Fitzpatrick and her appreciation for handwriting and dedication to the elementary students during her 35 year teaching career. Congratulations to these students on great handwriting!

Did you know this was the 12th year the LSCEF awarded scholarships? For many years before that, it was the L-S Citizen’s Scholarship or many remember the name Dollars for Scholars. When that program ended, the LSCEF was able to pick-up where it left off. Recently we were gifted with some old paperwork and we couldn’t let this picture slip by without a post! On Monday, May 18, the LSCEF awarded $13,280 to 17 seniors. In addition to our own funds, the LSCEF oversees seven additional scholarships. When seniors apply for the LSCEF scholarship, they automatically are eligible for these additional scholarships. Special thanks to the businesses, memorials, and individuals who make these additional scholarships possible.

Just one week ago, the LSCEF funded the 2nd grade field trip to the Omaha Zoo! This is a new fundraising opportunity as our teachers have always done an amazing job fundraising on their own. The LSCEF felt that this trip is certainly an enhancement to education and we are thrilled to fund it for as long as funds are available!
