***Public Service Announcement***

With summer break quickly approaching, the Police Department is asking for parents’ assistance in addressing the use of motorized scooters, e-bikes, and other motorized vehicles in our city parks.

While these vehicles may appear to be harmless, they can cause damage to park facilities and create safety concerns. Recently, damage was reported to the basketball court surface at Pacific Park as a result of scooters and e-bikes being driven on the basketball surface.

We encourage parents to speak with their children about keeping motorized scooters, e-bikes, and other motorized vehicles out of city parks. Not only does this help protect our public spaces and keep them safe and enjoyable for everyone but operating any type of motorized vehicle in a city park is also a violation of city ordinance.

Please share this message so we can work together to keep our parks safe, enjoyable, and damage-free.
