Today Houston River Fd shared the honor with Sulphur Fire Dept. To hold the American Flag over Hwy 90 for a true American Hero.
A WW2 Veteran was brought home from the Philippines and laied to rest near his home town of Vinton La. In the Big Woods Cemetery.
He, his family and friends got to drive under Old Glory as she flew in all her dignity.

Tuesday evening Houston River Fd trained on multiple trucks supplying water for fire suppression and maintaining sprinkler head pressures.
We used a hydrant and 5" hose to supply the main engine, that engine supplied a sandpipe riser, handlines, the mounted monitor, and a second engine.
The second engine provided handlines, and a truck mounted monitor.
Firefighters then had the opportunity to block in sprinkler heads! I think some Firefighters are still wet!
This was a very good pump operations, hose handling, and water supply clsss.

🔥 National Volunteer Firefighter Appreciation Day 🚒❤️

Today, Houston River Fire Department proudly recognizes and celebrates our volunteer firefighters who give their time, energy, and hearts to serve and protect our community.

Our volunteers leave their families, jobs, meals, and sometimes their beds in the middle of the night when the call comes. They train hard, answer the call, and stand ready to help their neighbors during some of their most difficult moments.

To each of our HRFD volunteer firefighters: THANK YOU for your dedication, courage, sacrifice, and commitment to our community. We are proud to have you as part of the HRFD family.

And to the families who support our volunteers and make their service possible—we appreciate you, too. ❤️

HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT was invited to participate in the City of DeQuincy's National Night Out Friday evening!
Ladder 1 crew had a blast making sure the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies did not leave dry!!
Thank you DeQuincy Fire Department for having us, and thank you Kim Rainwater for being such a good sport!!
