Dear Nancy,

Yesterday, Florida’s Medical Freedom bill, SB 1756, passed the Senate. The vote was close, but together we brought it over the line: YEAS 23, NAYS 15.

A big thank you to Senator Yarborough for sponsoring this bill and for the tremendous work it took to move it through committees and secure passage on the Senate floor.

With this major step forward comes the next push to see this bill become law.

As many of you know, the House has not yet moved Rep. Holcomb’s companion bill, so our strategy now is to urge the House to pick up the Senate bill directly. When the Senate passes a bill, it is sent to the House in what is called “Messages.” The House can choose to take up that bill and pass it without sending it through House committees.

This does not happen often, but with strong constituent pressure, we believe it is possible, especially for a bill that the Governor and his administration have championed.

Our call to action right now:
Contact key House legislators and your own House Representative and ask them to pick up SB 1756 from Messages and pass it in the House.

Session Timing

Session is scheduled to end at the end of this week, but the Speaker of the House has indicated they will remain in session until the budget and other priority issues are finished. That means there is still time to act and we should not lose hope.

Hoping everyone had/is having a great Summer. Are you ready to get back into the swing of the Republican Club Meetings? Well, I know I am. With that said; I want to let everyone know we will not be having a meeting in August. As this is an off election year, we find it not necessary (as August is usually saved for "Meet the Candidates".)
We will, however, begin the fall season with our First Meeting on September 4. Our speaker will be John Labriola, a lobbyist with Christian Family Coalition Florida. He is known for his outspoken conservative values, advocating for legislation that would protect religious liberty and free speech in conjunction with refusing to use pronouns. This should be very interesting.
Please remember, if you would like to be a member of the club, the club dues are $10 per person. If you have not paid for this year, please consider doing so. You can make your check out to the Stonecrest Republican Club and put it in the envelope in the Crest Club Binder labeled Republican Club or bring it with you at the September meeting. These dues allow us to print flyers, and pay for the snacks each month.

Hello Everyone! Hope y'all are enjoying the Spring weather.
First, the committee would like to encourage everyone to make their voices heard on April 1 in the General Election. If you have not voted by mail, or early voting for the General Election for District 6, we encourage you to do so Tuesday, April 1. It is extremely important that we keep the House of Representatives. If we don't vote to replace Michael Waltz with another Republican, (Randy Fine, whom Trump endorses). we can lose the majority in the house. With mail-in ballots, and early voting, the Democrats seem to have the advantage. So, it is EXTREMELY important that we show up on Tuesday, April 1, at our Community Center, and VOTE - Randy Fine in. Please set your alarm or calendar to remind you to vote!
Second, we were notified by Billy Woods' office that he will not be able to come and speak at our April 3 meeting. But, they are sending Lieutenant Paul Bloom, Director of the Public Information Office who will speak about Crimes Against Seniors. Make sure you attend. I know we will learn a lot.
If you still wish to be a Stonecrest Republican Club member and haven't paid your 2025 dues, please consider doing so at the meeting.
