Summerhill Boro. Volunteer Fire Department Providing Fire, Rescue, QRS, and Emergency Response Service to residents of Summerhill & Wilmore Boroughs,

Our mission is to serve the communities of Summerhill Borough, New Germany, Croyle Township, Wilmore Borough and surrounding areas by protecting its citizens, visitors, businesses, property and the environment. We will accomplish this by working together as a team and in a cooperative effort with other municipal departments and agencies. Through education, training and leadership we will provide f

ire suppression, rescue operations, hazardous materials response and public education to fulfill our mission. Recognition that the citizens of Summerhill, Croyle Township and Wilmore are the key to our success is the driving force behind our dedication and professionalism.

Our engine was one of three engines and three tankers that were used at the Cambria County Regional Firefighter's Association's Rural Fireground Water Movement class. This class allows us to keep our skills up on things we don't normally do by using tankers, portable ponds, relays, and long hose lays to move water to the fire scene over a long distance in areas where there are no hydrants. The two-day class was attended by Summerhill, Patton, West Taylor, Cherry Hill Twp, and Alexandria Fire Departments. South Fork FD also supplied their tanker for today's evolutions.
