Summerhill Boro. Volunteer Fire Department Providing Fire, Rescue, QRS, and Emergency Response Service to residents of Summerhill & Wilmore Boroughs,

Our mission is to serve the communities of Summerhill Borough, New Germany, Croyle Township, Wilmore Borough and surrounding areas by protecting its citizens, visitors, businesses, property and the environment. We will accomplish this by working together as a team and in a cooperative effort with other municipal departments and agencies. Through education, training and leadership we will provide f

ire suppression, rescue operations, hazardous materials response and public education to fulfill our mission. Recognition that the citizens of Summerhill, Croyle Township and Wilmore are the key to our success is the driving force behind our dedication and professionalism.

The 2026 convention of the Cambria County Regional Firefighter's Association wrapped up tonight with the parade and our department made the best of it. Our rescue won 1st place in it's category, our 2005 engine won 1st place in it's category, and our 1980 engine won 1st place in it's category. Then, to top that off, we were awarded the Parade Grand Champion trophy for the best department overall in the parade for the second year in a row!

Another fun weak of light-hearted competition and comradery with departments from all over Cambria County has come to a close.

Thank you Adams Township Vol. Fire Dept. #2 (St Michael) for another great convention.

Stop over to our neighboring fire department tonight and watch the parade and fireworks. Summerhill fire will be entering our units and firefighters will be marching in the parade.

To our citizens and neighbors of Adams Township - the Convention Grand Parade is Saturday Aug. 1st at 5pm. Alternate traffic and detours will begin at 5pm through approx 6:30pm. The parade route will start at Forest Hills High School and proceed down Locust Street to Main Street. Detours will be south on Rt 160 and Palestine Road. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Also today, the kids got to have their own version of Battle of the Barrel. Our department we well represented. Although there were no prizes, they had a great time.

A bowling tournament was held tonight. We had a firemen's team, an auxiliary members team, and a ladies team. The guys didn't do too well. We're waiting to hear how the ladies did.
