Nicholas County Schools is saddened to announce the passing of Richwood High School’s Band Director, Greg James. Mr. James served the Richwood community and students for over fifty years. We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, coworkers, and students and will continue to keep them in our thoughts & prayers.

🍎 Hunger Doesn't Take a Summer Vacation! 🍎

The Nicholas County Board of Education is proud to sponsor the federally funded Summer Food Service Program, providing meals to ALL children ages 18 years and under!

Meals will run from June 22, 2026, through July 24, 2026.

🏫 Daily Hot Meals (Monday–Friday):
Breakfast and lunch will be served daily at the following schools:

Birch River Elementary (Note: Ends July 23rd)

Cherry River Elementary

Gauley River Elementary

Summersville Elementary

🚐 Weekly Lunch-Only Pickups:
We are also offering Tuesday and Wednesday community pickup stops! (A parent or guardian will need to bring the child when picking up lunch).
