A multi-agency / multi-jurisdiction team for extended incidents formed and managed at the state, regional or metropolitan level

https://www.usfa.fema.gov/training/imt/imt_overview.html The Low Country Incident Management Team (IMT) serves Beaufort, Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Jasper, Hampton, Colleton, Bamberg, Orangeburg and Calhoun counties and will respond to incidents in other portions

of the state upon need/request. All-Hazard IMTs were derived from the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS), both of which started principally after the breakdowns in the response and recovery efforts to hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The concept- To assemble a trained team that can immediately respond to a major, widespread emergency or catastrophic event anywhere in the nation, and help manage any incident that would extend to multiple days. That could include a tornado, flood, terrorist event or a planned mass gathering.

'All-Hazards' refers any incident or event where the team is composed of individuals from various disciplines, including police, fire, public health, public works, public information, planning and emergency medical.
