As we celebrate Memorial Day, please actually take some time to focus on the reason for the holiday.
Today should be a day of solum thanks.
Thanks for the men and women whom died for our county, our freedoms and our rights as a sovereign nation.
This day is for gratitude of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for you and I.
Give this day the respect they deserve.
Thank the GOLD STAR FAMILIES, who lost a family member for our county.
Be safe and be humble on this day of gratitude.

Since the year 2000,Gore Fire Department has conducted live fire training in an 8x40 shipping container converted into a multi room, multi scenario burn building.

This unit also included a functional sprinkler riser for fire service training.
Today was the end of an era.
Department members dissected the building, removed training props and cut up the unit for removal.
26 years of egressive fire training had taken its toll on the structure.

What's next?
Making way for 4 new shipping containers for firefighter training.
Multi level, 3 elevations, suitable for fire suppression, victom serch, rope rescue, realistic vertical ventilation, confined space and vehicle through the building props and ofcorse sprinkler riser training.
All 4 units have been procured and awaiting shipment.

The small 8x40 has trained over 100 Volunteer firefighters with thousands of hours of hands-on training in its 26 years of service.
We are excited to take the training to the next level.
