A message from June 1, 2026 from Supervisor Justin Lofton, District 1:

Town of Summit, McComb and Osyka residents, trash cans are being delivered starting today.

Please note that not every resident will receive a can on the first day. Deliveries may take up to a week to complete.

Also, purchasing an extra can from Lowe’s or another retailer will not allow you to avoid the required service fees. The carts being distributed by Waste Management contain tracking technology that allows their location to be monitored.

If your cart is misplaced or stolen, Waste Management can track and recover it.

If you live outside of city limits, you’ll start receiving yours closer to July, as the County has a more complex system to rollout, but they’re coming soon.

Thank you for your patience as the rollout continues.

Summit, MS is growing and we desire to do what’s best for our citizens and town at all times!

With that being said, today we have a work session with possibly the best town council in the state of Mississippi! And it’s all because they truly care for our town! We invite you to come out and see the efforts they put into your town running and functioning at a high level!

All work sessions are scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month with board meetings being scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month.
