Last week, Union County ARRIVE Together hosted its Bi-Annual In-person Debrief at the North Avenue Academic Building of Kean University. The meeting focused on recent responses, policies and protocols and plans for the future of the program. The team meets monthly via Zoom and twice a year in person.

Union County ARRIVE Together pairs law enforcement officers with certified mental health screeners for crisis response. Officers from any one of the partnered agencies respond to cross-jurisdictional calls for mental health incidents with a Trinitas mental health screener. When not responding to reactive calls, the ARRIVE team performs follow-up management and proactively visits individuals in the community who would benefit from an outreach program.

Today marks nine years.
A day of remembrance.

May 30, 2017 is forever etched in our minds. We honor and recognize your achievements, your accolades, and your passion for the career you loved. We think of your family you left behind too soon, but know we watch over them like our own. Youโ€™d be so proud of them.

You may be gone, but certainly never forgotten.

โ€œIt is not how they died that made them heroes, it is how they lived.โ€ And we always recognized that you lived it to the fullest, cherishing every moment. Always in our hearts.

A reminder from New Jersey Fish & Wildlife as we receive many calls about fawns as the spring progresses.

๐ŸฆŒ As white-tailed deer welcome their new fawns to New Jerseyโ€™s woods, remember to observe from a distance. Before fawns are strong enough to keep up with the adults, they are oftentimes left laying alone while their mother is away feeding. Their color pattern and lack of scent keep them safe. If you find a fawn, the best thing you can do is to leave it undisturbed and leave the area. The mother will return to nurse the fawn several times during the day.

Earlier today - officers from our agency participated in the Murph Challenge - hosted by Veracity Athletics (Cross Fit Veracity) - participants included Chief Ryan Peters, Lt. Jeff Deets, Officer Keith Kwiatek, Detective Lenny Franchino, Detectives Anthony Pyzik & Darin Sliker, Officer Johnathan Ramos, Juvenile Detective Crystalie Caraballo, and Officer Elson Gloss.

The Murph Challenge is a CrossFit style workout done in tribute to fallen Navy Seal Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action (KIA)in Afghanistan in 2005.

The workout consists of a 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 pushups and 300 squats, followed by another 1 mile run. As part of their participation, our officers donated to โ€œThe Official Murph Challengeโ€ (https://themurphchallenge.com/).

The Murph Challenge is the official fundraiser for the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

A special thank you to Amanda Ryan of Veracity Athletics for hosting this event again for us!

Great job to all participants!
