On Sunday, March 5th at 4pm Christ Church Summit and Fountain Baptist Church are holding a joint concert “Still I Rise” celebrating Black History Month. The event will be held at Christ Church Summit at 561 Springfield Avenue.

There is a suggested donation of $20, and folks can pay in advance using the QR scan square or this link (https://ccsnj.breezechms.com/give/online to make payment. The event will celebrate the joy of black music, and the presenters hope the community will join together in the celebration. No pre-registration is required.

Please join program sponsors for a special event with the award-winning and bestselling author Jennifer Harvey. Dr. Harvey is the author of the critically acclaimed book Raising White Kids and has been featured on NPR, CNN, The New York Times, and more. On October 22nd, at Christ Church Summit (561 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ) she will lead an interactive workshop with parents of all races about raising children to be mindful and conscientious about race.

If you have ever wondered how to talk to your kids about race, worried you’d say the “wrong” thing, or just felt confused by all the noisy discussions that surround this hot-button issue, then this is the event for you. Childcare will be provided and breakfast served. The workshop will last from 9:00am to 1:00pm, but stop by for as long as you want. It’s only $8 if you register now; simply email [email protected] and indicate how many would like to sign up.
