Happy parking lot opening day to all those who celebrate

Hi, it's us again, your local public library, with another parking lot update....

The parking lot will REOPEN on Monday, June 1st! We're very excited to have a parking lot back and we know you are too. Thank you so much for your patience during this project.

Here are some reminders for the week ahead:
•We have reopened the outdoor book drops, they are available for walk-up returns.
• All holds that are currently on our shelves have been extended until Friday, May 29th.
• If you cannot make it into the library to pick up your holds, call the library at 608-825-7323 and set up an appointment with staff to pick-up items at Sheehan Park.
• Keep in mind that Sun Prairie items have no daily overdue fines, so it's okay to turn them in late!
•Our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is this Friday, May 29 at 8:30am! A limited number of parking spots will be open at the overflow VFW parking lot on Friday morning for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. We ask that these spots be reserved for our patrons with limited mobility, and all others park at Sheehan Park. The overflow lot is near the VFW Memorial, on Sunfield Street and can be accessed via S. Walker Way.

Questions? Please email [email protected] or call us at 608-825-7323.

Mark your calendars for this Friday! Sponsored by the SPPL Foundation.

Please note that tonight's concert, funded by the Friends, will be inside. A reminder that the parking lot is closed until the 29th, but if you can make the jaunt and join us, we'll see you there!

Join us TONIGHT (Wednesday, May 20) at 6:00 PM in the Community Room for a night of ragtime, blues, and jazz! *Please note we are moving the program to the Community Room due to the cooler temperatures.*

The popular duo Cherry and Jerry will bring you well known songs such as "The Entertainer", "Alexander’s Ragtime Band", and "St. Louis Blues" as well as some rarely heard but wonderful tunes. Fun for the whole family, they focus on ragtime, blues, jazz and popular music from around 1900-1925.

The event is generously funded by the Friends of the Sun Prairie Public Library.

We posted this too late

Join us TODAY (Tuesday, May 19) at 1:00 PM in conversation with bestselling author Nir Eyal. In Beyond Belief, Eyal reveals how the hidden assumptions you carry shape what you see, how you feel, and what you do—and how to replace them with beliefs that unlock your true potential. Grounded in neuroscience, psychology, and unforgettable case studies, Eyal introduces the Three Powers of Belief: Attention, Anticipation, and Agency. Beyond Belief reveals the science behind incredible breakthroughs and shows why your limits aren’t fixed—they’re learned.

There are two ways to participate in this virtual event:
-Join us in person in the library's Conference Room for a watch party
-Participate virtually via the following link: https://libraryc.org/sunprairie/164749

⚠️Parking Lot Update - Library Parking Lot CLOSED until Friday, May 29th, reopening on Saturday, May 30th*.

Unfortunately, our parking lot rehabilitation project has been extended. After testing the area, it was found that our parking lot needs more work than was originally anticipated. We know this has been quite the inconvenience and we are deeply sorry. To help facilitate things, we are doing the following:
• We are actively working to extend all holds that are currently on our shelves until Friday, May 29th.
• We have reopened the outdoor book drops, they are available for walk-up returns.
• Starting on Monday, May 18th, if you cannot make it into the library to pick up your holds, call the library at 608-825-7323 and set up an appointment with staff to pick-up items at Sheehan Park.
• Keep in mind that Sun Prairie items have no daily overdue fines, so it's okay to turn them in late!

Questions? Please email [email protected] or call us at 608-825-7323.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our patrons and our delivery drivers, for their patience. Cheers to a new parking lot very soon!
