Central resource for food, clothing and other vital services for Northeastern Dane County residents.

Sunshine Place is the primary community resource providing coordinated support services for children, families, and individuals in Sun Prairie and northeastern Dane County. We aim to increase equity for those most vulnerable in our community by offering one location where individuals can access social services to help with basic needs. Sunshine Place houses seven of its own programs and six partne

r agencies to help those experiencing housing insecurity, food insecurity, and other hardships that contribute to household instability.

🌞Shout out to the incredible high school students (and teachers!) from Sun Prairie West High School and Sun Prairie East High School in the SET Academy (Sports, Entertainment & Tourism Marketing) program, who recently worked with Sunshine Place staff to help create donation drive kits for our Beds for Kids and KiDs Closet programs!

👉Not only did these students do a FANTASTIC job getting these kits ready, they went the extra step to write a successful grant to Sun Prairie Education Foundation, to help them create a professional clothing closet for students at Sun Prairie West High School, to complement the clothing supports KiDs Closet offers. Our program staff will stay in touch with the school to help keep this stocked with business/professional clothing options, and in turn, students have expanded our communications to students about what KiDs Closet has to offer. We can't wait to partner with this class again!

⚾ Heyyy sports fans! When you're out this summer soaking up some sun, sipping a cold beverage, and watching the Madison Mallards play, don't forget to cheer for a Double Play to benefit Sunshine Place! 🌞It's SUMMER, and that means we need summer clothing for our KiDs Closet program! Luckily, we have our KiDs Closet Student Youth Board to let us know some of the things students like to wear in summer, and what items need restocking.🕶

We wanted to take a moment to thank two amazing Sunshine Pantry volunteers who are on to their next great adventure, high-schoolers Gala (at the center of 3 wonderful, bilingual volunteers), and Edgar.

💛 Gala joined us as a foreign exchange student from Spain, attending Sun Prairie West High School. She made a significant impression on those she helped and on fellow volunteers.

💙 Edgar joined us as a foreign exchange student from Bolivia. He was wonderful to work with, compassionate, and welcoming to everyone he interacted with.

We are so grateful to you both for spending part of your time here volunteering at Sunshine Pantry! You will be missed!

📣📣TODAY kicks off our second annual School's Out for Summer (S.O.S.) Food Fight donation drive! Help us stock the pantry shelves as we enter the summer months, where demand is high but donations decrease. Participating businesses collect donations for Sunshine Pantry from June 11 - July 9. The business who collects the most lbs of food/employee, wins!
