The Sun Valley Pumpkin Challenge is back! Mini pumpkins will be available Thursday Oct. 22 at 4 pm to pick up during the Monster Marshmallow. Return your pumpkin by 4 pm Thursday Oct. 29 or earlier for judging. Winners will be announced at 5 pm the same day. May the best pumpkin win! Supplies are limited.

The ninja is doing some writing! Share stories of the people, places, ideas, and experiences that have shaped you with the Library’s AAPI Joy Youth Writing Contest, sponsored by Hyundai. Before Oct. 18, students in grades 6-12 are invited to write essays focused on the theme “The Library in Our Hearts,” inspired by the legacy of Filipino American author, poet, and activist Carlos Bulosan.

In Celebration of and Winnie- the-Pooh’s 100th anniversary, Sun Valley Branch is having a Marathon Read of Winnie-the-Pooh. We’ll begin reading at 9:30 on the morning of Saturday Oct. 24 until we’re finished. The first 10 people who come and read will receive a free anniversary copy of Winnie-the-Pooh. It’s a community event! Meet fellow Winnie-the-Pooh fans!
