Small Town Traditions: Every spring Knolltop Farm donates syrup for the Sunapee Baseball & Softball teams to sell at their bake sale at Town Meeting.

The proceeds from the sale help fund a weekend trip to Cape Cod where the kids get field time on green grass while we are still under snow up here.

In exchange for the syrup the kids help stack sugarhouse wood for next year. On the surface, it is an exchange that benefits both parties. In reality, it is so much more.

Thank You Mr. Fred, Mrs. Cruz and all the boys and girls who have participated over the years.

Even though it may not feel like it, it is that time of year! We will tap out our smaller orchard (Dexter's) this weekend with plans of tapping everything else next weekend.

Conditions in the woods right now are interesting. There is a semi-hard crust on top of a foot+ of loose snow. Snowshoes required.
