The Sunbury Police Department would like to clear up some misinformation that has been circulating today. The police department will remain transparent in all information that is legally allowable. To clear up today's events where numerous OFFICERS were seen in the parking lot, the OFFICERS were in fact U.S. MARSHALLS not ICE agents.

Pennsylvania’s School Bus Stopping Law requires drivers to stop at least 10 feet from a school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.

Drivers must remain stopped until the red lights stop flashing, the stop arm is withdrawn, and the children have reached a place of safety.

For a police-observed violation, penalties can include a $250 fine, five points on your driving record, and a 60-day license suspension. Automated stop-arm camera violations are handled differently and can result in a $300 civil fine.

We are once again reminding residents to REMOVE VALUABLES from your vehicles.

Vehicle break-ins are more than an inconvenience, they leave our neighbors feeling violated and unsafe in their own community.

🔒 Lock your doors — even in your driveway.
🔑 Take your keys and key fobs inside.
💰 Remove wallets, purses, cash and other valuables.
📹 Check your security or doorbell cameras for suspicious activity.

👀 If you see something suspicious, REPORT IT.

COMMUNITY IS ABOUT SHOWING UP WHEN IT MATTERS MOST. ❤️

Sunbury Mayor Josh Brosious and Police Chief Brad Slack supported the fundraising efforts being held for Decklen Wallace, who is facing an unimaginable loss following the tragic motorcycle accident that claimed the lives of his parents.

At a time when a young member of our community needs love, stability and support, it is encouraging to see community leaders stand alongside the many individuals, businesses, organizations and first responders who are coming together to help.

This is bigger than titles, positions or politics.

This is about a child. This is about compassion. This is about COMMUNITY.
