๐ฒ๐บ E-Bikes, Golf Carts & More! Letโs Share the Road, Sunbury! ๐ด๐
Youโve probably noticed more e-bikes, golf carts, reduced-speed vehicles and other multi-use vehicles around Sunbury, and weโre glad to see residents enjoying new ways to get around our community! Of course, with more ways to move comes a few important rules and responsibilities. ๐
The Sunbury Police Department has a new and improved webpage with helpful information about:
๐ E-Bikes: Learn the differences between Class 1, 2 and 3 e-bikes, including speed, equipment, age and helmet requirements.
๐บ Golf Carts & Reduced-Speed Vehicles: Find out where these vehicles may operate and what requirements apply, including registration, insurance, licensing, safety equipment and inspections.
๐ Helpful Resources โ Weโve also included links to Ohio laws, state resources and additional safety information so you can get the facts in one place.
โ ๏ธ One important update: The City of Sunbury is currently reviewing a proposed ordinance specifically addressing e-bikes. Until that process is complete, riders should continue following applicable Ohio laws, existing City ordinances, posted signs and general traffic-safety requirements.
So, whether youโre pedaling, cruising or driving, slow down, stay alert, give others plenty of space and share the road responsibly. โค๏ธ
