We hate to state the obvious, but it's HOT and it's going to stay hot. With weekend events & activities, please take steps to stay hydrated and seek out cool locations. If you get overheated, these are the symptoms to look for and seek help: Cramping muscles, heavy sweating beyond the usual and then maybe not sweating anymore, shortness of breath, dizziness, headache and nausea. Add the smoke in the air and it's rough outside right now. Take care and enjoy safely!

ATTENTION ALL CROOK COUNTY RESIDENTS:

Due to work on the Air Conditioning system at the Crook County Courthouse, and it not functioning at capacity, and due to excessive heat forecast for next week, it has been decided to CLOSE the Courthouse at 2:00 PM every day next week, beginning on Monday 7/13/2026 thru Friday, 7/17/2026. The courthouse will open at the regular time of 8:00 AM.

Please share this information with as many as possible. And apologize for the short notice.

We know....it's gotten really hot out there. Stay Hydrated with these steps:

Carry a water bottle. Drink and refill it throughout the day.
Consider limiting beverages high in sugars and sodium, caffeine, and alcohol.
