🕺 Retro Dance in Honor of Grandparents Day 💃

Join us on **Wednesday, September 9th** for a fun-filled **Retro Dance celebrating Grandparents Day!** 🎉

We invite our students and their grandparents to come enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing, and great memories together. **The event is FREE!**

🪩 Dance Schedule

Due to limited capacity, students will attend during the following times:

- **Kindergarten – 2nd Grade:** 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- **3rd Grade – 6th Grade:** 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

🎵 Music from the 70s, 80s & 90s!

Get ready to dance to some of the greatest hits from the decades we love! We’re also **taking song requests**, so let us know what you’d like to hear and dance to. 🎤🎶

🎉 Please join us in welcoming our new Assistant Principal, Ms. La Toya Saliu! 🎉
Ms. Saliu is a proud graduate of Gadsden High School, Class of 2000. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Special Education from New Mexico State University in 2006, followed by a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Ms. Saliu has been an educator since 2007 and most recently served as the Instructional Coach for Special Education at Desert View Elementary, a role she began in 2025. Throughout her career, her hard work, dedication, and commitment to students and staff have made a lasting difference in our school community.

Ms. Saliu truly loves what she does—and it shows! ❤️ Her passion for education, her students, and her colleagues makes her a wonderful addition to our leadership team.

Desert View Elementary is excited and proud to welcome Ms. La Toya Saliu as our new Assistant Principal! We look forward to all the great things she will accomplish in this new role.

¡Acompáñenos a dar la bienvenida a nuestra nueva subdirectora, Ms. La Toya Saliu! Ms. Saliu se graduó con orgullo de Gadsden High School en el año 2000. Obtuvo su licenciatura en Educación Especial para Primaria en New Mexico State University en 2006, seguida de una maestría en Currículo e Instrucción. Ms. Saliu ha ejercido como educadora desde 2007 y, más recientemente, se desempeñó como Coach de Instrucción de Educación Especial en Desert View Elementary, un puesto que comenzó en 2025. A lo largo de su carrera, su arduo trabajo, dedicación y compromiso con los estudiantes y el personal han marcado una diferencia duradera en nuestra comunidad escolar.
