Beginning June 1, expanded federal work requirements for CalFresh may cause many Californians to lose access to critical food assistance, including older adults, caregivers, students, veterans, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

At Sunnyvale Community Services, we know that access to nutritious food is essential for stability. As food costs rise and demand for assistance continues to grow, we remain committed to helping our neighbors meet their basic needs and build a stronger future with dignity.

Thank you to ABC 7 News for shining a light on the challenges many of our neighbors face in trying to make ends meet right here in Sunnyvale.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness about the growing needs in our community and the importance of coming together to support one another during a time when the need is greater than ever.

As food assistance cuts continue and uncertainty around federal funding remains, many families are facing increasing challenges with no clear end in sight. These changes make community support more critical than ever as many neighbors rely on essential resources to help put food on the table and meet basic needs.
