Prepare your property from the upcoming freeze!
With several consecutive days of freezing temperatures in the DFW forecast, I wanted to share a few important pool and splash pad reminders.
During the February 2021 freeze, Texas experienced $11.2 billion in damage. At H2O Splash Pad, we supported 178 clients, with the majority of losses tied directly to pool equipment failures. A little preparation now can save significant time, money, and stress later.
POOL REMINDERS
✅ Keep pool equipment running as designed. Moving water is your best freeze protection.
⚠️ If you lose power:
Turn OFF all breakers immediately
Pull drain plugs on all pumps and filters ASAP
These steps help protect your pumps and filters, which are the hardest (and most expensive) items to replace after a major freeze. While PVC can usually be repaired at a reasonable cost, pumps and filters become extremely difficult to source when the entire industry is impacted at once.
