We're proud to be hosting Carter BloodCare's Blood Bus here at the library next Friday, July 31 from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. There's always a need for blood, and the community needs your help to fulfill that need. And to make it even better, all donors at our event get both a great stainless steel canteen AND a $25 e-gift card!

Today is the day! It's the last day of Summer Reading and we have a party in store with lots of fun and surprises! We'll be partying it up from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.! Here's what you need to know:

11 a.m.: Our party kicks off! Join us in the library for crafts, or head over to the Dinosaur Snack Station for some light refreshments!
12 p.m. - 2 p.m.: Our very special guests, Norman the T-Rex and Daisy the Baby Triceratops, will join us! Come say hello, take pictures, and play fun games! (Lots of cold bottled water will be available; it'll be hot out! Be sure to take care and enjoy our air conditioning if you need a break!)
2 p.m. - 3 p.m.: It's time to draw the winners of our Grand Prizes! And stick around for our second chance prizes; you might bring something home too!

The last week of Summer Reading is here! Here's what to look forward to:

Wednesday, July 22, 10:30 a.m.: Prehi-Story Time is ready to go out with a roar! Join Miss Evelyn as we sing, dance, and read with Dino & Friends!

Thursday, July 23, 2 p.m.: Craftasaurus Workshop finishes its summer as we make some Prehistoric Dreamcatchers, perfect for your dreams of all the books you read this summer! Also, remember that all reading time has to be stamped and turned in by 5 p.m. on Thursday!

Friday, July 24, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Summer Reading is almost over, but it's ready to party its way out! Join us beginning at 11 a.m. for snacks, crafts, and fun! At noon, our very special guest dinosaurs Norman the T-Rex and Daisy the Baby Triceratops will be here to play! And at 2 p.m., we'll draw this year's Grand Prize winners. . . and give out some awesome Second Chance prizes too!

Wednesday, July 15, 10:30 a.m.: Prehi-Story Time is ready to roll! Join us as Miss Evelyn sings, reads, and dances with your little ones. . . and the Dinosaurs in the Library!

Wednesday, July 15, 5:30 p.m.: Doris Padgett Public Library Book Club! Join us as we discuss this month's book: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier! Even if you haven't read the book, come anyway; we have refreshments and love conversation!

Thursday, July 16, 2 p.m.: Craftasaurus Workshop! Bring your little dinos and let them Paint Their Own Dinosaur!

Friday, July 17, 2 p.m.: Our final Friday Performer is ready to entertain! Come on down and meet Ramblin' Rita - Wild West Storyteller as she tells you amazing old tales of Texas (and when we say old, we mean it!) You'll learn and laugh your way to a whole new appreciation of the world around you!

And as always, enter to win our beautiful door prize: an ammonite necklace! And this week's dinosaur, Reallytallasaurus, is ready for you to find him! (Hint: look up.)
