Structure Fire - Sapphire Dr.

Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District received an alarm for a smoke investigation at 9:40 pm in the area of Roller Coaster Dr. Brush 46 arrived in the area within six minutes to find a residential structure that had been demolished burning on Sapphire Dr.

Brush 46 requested a first alarm be struck and began to attack the fire. Sunrise Beach handled this incident with an engine, a ladder, a brush truck, two tankers and one Chief Officer. Mutual aid was canceled due to the fire being contained in the foundation.

Firefighters used the ladder truck and one hand line to extinguish most of the fire. The scene was turned over to the State Fire Marshals Office for the investigation. The last unit cleared at approximately 1:24 am.

Due to the amount of debris, this fire will smolder for a couple days. Our crews will be checking it and will take further action if necessary.

Sunrise Beach FPD has set a new all time record for alarms! As of this afternoon we surpassed the record set in 2022 with two more months of 2026 to go!

Prop Fire Fridays highlight the needs of the District and the reasons we are asking for the sales tax initiative. This serves as another example of our rising call volume and our staff serving our community!

This Thursday and Friday local departments will be training on Active Shooter/ MCI incidents. Thursday officers participated in Tabletop command scenario training. Friday scenario training at Ozark Amphitheatre.
