We invite our Lighthouse friends and supporters to read this inspiring article about a group of fifth-grade students in Washington State who used artificial intelligence to create a Braille 3D Generator—an innovative tool that instantly converts text into printable Braille signs.

Motivated by a desire to help blind and low-vision individuals navigate their school more independently, these young students demonstrated how technology, creativity, and compassion can come together to make a real difference.

Their project is a powerful reminder that accessibility innovation can come from anyone, at any age, and offers an exciting glimpse into how AI can help build a more inclusive world.

Today families participated in our annual literacy event. The day allows students to pick print and Braille books for their home libraries, participate in fun literacy activities, learn about valuable resources such as Florida Low Vision Initiative and Florida School for Deaf and Blind. Students also participated in a story time with author Lauren Horowitz.
