Whether you're firing up the grill, spending the day by the pool, or enjoying time with family and friends, take a few extra moments to keep safety in mind.

🔥 Grill safely and never leave a grill unattended.
🏊 Keep a close eye on children around the water.
⛈️ Keep an eye on the weather — South Florida storms can move in quickly.
🌀 Remember, we're still in hurricane season.
🚗 Buckle up, stay alert, and never drive impaired.
📱 And if an emergency happens, call 9-1-1.

Our newest probationary firefighters recently took part in making the journey from Station 83 to Station 39, stopping at all five of our stations along the way.

More than just a long walk, the journey is an opportunity to build camaraderie, teamwork, and perseverance as our newest members begin their careers with Sunrise Fire Rescue.

After making the journey together, the class arrived at Station 39 having shared an experience that will be part of their story as they grow together as a team.

Following the devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia’s Chocó region on August 10, families are in need of essential supplies—and our community can help.

Sunrise Fire-Rescue is collecting donations from August 18–31 to support families affected by the disaster.

📍 Drop off donations at ANY Sunrise Fire-Rescue station
🕗 Daily | 8 AM–4 PM

Most-needed items include:
⛺ New tents, tarps & sleeping bags
🛏️ Blankets, bedding & sleeping mats
🩹 First-aid kits
🔦 Flashlights, batteries & solar lanterns
📻 Radios, power banks & work gloves
🧼 Hygiene products
🧻 Toilet paper & wet wipes
🍼 Diapers, wipes & new baby bottles
👶 Children’s hygiene products

🚫 Please do not donate: Food or water, clothing, shoes, pet supplies, medications, or used items.

Every donation can help provide comfort and essential supplies to a family working to recover. Thank you, Sunrise, for always showing up when our neighbors need us.

Please join us in congratulating our newest Recruit Class 26-01 as they officially begin their careers with Sunrise Fire Rescue!

These recruits have dedicated countless hours to training, learning, and pushing themselves to meet the demands of the fire service. Their journey has been built on teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to serving our community.

As students head back to school, let’s all do our part to help them get there—and back home—safely.

🚌 Stop for school buses when red lights are flashing.
🚲 Wear a helmet every time you ride.
📱 Put the phone down and keep your eyes up.
🚶 Use crosswalks and stay alert when crossing.
🚗 Slow down in school zones and watch for children.

A few extra seconds of attention can make a big difference. Let’s make this school year a safe one for our entire Sunrise community! ❤️

🚨 This is National Stop on Red Week. Every time you see emergency lights and hear a siren, remember to stop at a red light and never try to "beat" an emergency vehicle through an intersection.

Those few extra seconds you wait could give firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement the space they need to reach someone in need safely.

Are you hydrated Sunrise? You know we are!

South Florida temperatures can become dangerous quickly. Take a few simple steps to protect yourself:

☀️ Drink plenty of water—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🏠 Stay indoors or in air-conditioned spaces during the hottest part of the day.
👵 Check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may need assistance.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.

Staying hydrated is one of the easiest ways to prevent heat-related illness. Stay cool, stay safe, Sunrise.
