Incidents for April of 2026
On 04/06 a resident in the 9200 block of Robyn located a firearm under a bush in their front yard. The firearm was reported stolen out of Nixa, MO in 2025. The firearm was seized as evidence.
On 04/08 an officer responded to the 3600 block of Geyer Road for a stolen scooter from the parking garage on the property. Surveillance video was obtained of two subjects stealing the scooter. On 04/21 a female subject was located with the scooter and taken into custody by Ballwin PD. The scooter was towed and the owner was notified of its whereabouts. The investigation into her involvement in the theft of the scooter is ongoing.
On 04/10 an officer responded to Extra Space Storage in the 10300 block of Watson regarding the theft of items from one of the storage units. The officer met with the reporting parties who advised they are affiliated with a nonprofit and had dropped off items for a fundraiser several weeks prior to their storage unit. They returned on 04/10 to prepare for a fundraiser and found most of the items in the unit missing totaling $16,650. On 04/13 after reviewing video surveillance, the manager observed several of the items in the neighboring storage unit. The officer obtained a search warrant for the other storage unit and almost all of the stolen property was recovered. Later that day, the manager contacted the PD and stated the subject who had rented the neighboring unit was at the facility trying to gain access to his storage unit. Officers responded and took the subject into custody. The subject had suspected m**h in his pockets and more stolen property in his vehicle. Officers obtained consent from the suspect to search his residence for the remainder of the stolen property and responded with the suspect to his apartment in the city where more items were recovered. The suspect was transported back to the Sunset Hills Police Department where he was booked for Burglary 2nd Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The case will be sent to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
On 04/19 an officer took a report of a stolen truck from a business on Gravois Industrial Drive. The vehicle was able to be tracked by the production manager and was located in south St. Louis. The truck was recovered,however, the tools and work equipment were taken from the truck. The case was turned over to the detective bureau. Along with video surveillance, facial recognition and Flock license plate readers, two suspects were positively identified. On 04/24 a search warrant was served and some of the stolen property was recovered from a residence in the city. On 05/06 one of the suspects responded to the PD to be interviewed. He stated that “he got drunk at a party and passed out and that someone must have taken his keys from his pocket, and used his truck to steal the other truck”. After the interview, he was booked for Stealing a Motor Vehicle and Stealing over $750. The case will be sent to the St. Louis County Prosecutor for review.
