You may have noticed 343 American flags in front of our Headquarters fire station. Each flag represents a Firefighter that was killed in the line of duty on 9/11. Twenty five years later we remember the sacrifices made that day.

SFD is proud to say that the new Rosenbauer RTX is in service as Engine 1! This morning it went on its first run! The headquarters crew on Platoon 3 responded to a medical emergency with the new truck. The all electric vehicle will serve the City of Superior and Twin Ports for many years to come!

A big thank you to Safe Kids NE Minnesota for helping spread the word about local car seat safety check events at area fire departments, including the Superior Fire Department!

If you haven't had your child's car seat checked recently, stop by Thursday, August 6, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Our certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will make sure your car seat is installed correctly and answer any questions you may have.

No appointment is needed—just drive to the back of the station and follow the orange cones. We look forward to seeing you!

Join us at one of our August car seat check events and work with a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician to:

▪ Make adjustments for the safest, most secure fit

A happy ending for one grateful duck family!

After a concerned citizen reported that nine ducklings had fallen into a storm drain, the crew from Engine 3 responded to help. With a little patience (and while being loudly scolded by the very protective parent ducks), the crew safely rescued all nine ducklings.

Once everyone was out and accounted for, the duck family was happily reunited and waddled off together.

The crew from Engine 1 had a great time giving Gemma and Grayson a ride to school on Friday! It was a fun morning for everyone, and Gemma and Grayson definitely arrived at school in style!
