Still thinking about that July 4th celebration? SAME!✨🇺🇸

Bay Harbor Islands, Surfside and Bal Harbour came together for a first-ever joint Independence Day celebration — and let’s just say, if you were there, you already know… and if you missed it, your neighbors are probably going to tell you that next year is a must. 😉

Our spectacular drone display stole the show and so did the fireworks! From live music, food, and giveaways to beachside views and community spirit, it was absolutely a night to remember. 🎆

A big THANK YOU to our residents, neighboring communities, police department, parks and recreation staff, public works teams and everyone who helped bring this celebration to life.

Child drownings are rising in Florida, according to experts. 🚨

Bay Harbor Islands, Surfside and Bal Harbour are joining forces to help families gain the knowledge and skills that can save lives. 🤝

Residents of SurfBalBay are invited to a FREE Water Safety Course on Monday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Surfside Community Center, 9301 Collins Ave. 📍

The course will cover drowning prevention, CPR and lifesaving techniques, along with a survival-skills demonstration. 🛟 Parents, guardians and caregivers are strongly encouraged to attend. Light refreshments and giveaways will also be provided.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required. 📲 Scan the QR code on the flyer to reserve your spot.

Water safety is a shared responsibility. Together, we can help protect every child in our communities. 💙

Today, the Surfside Police Department proudly hosted its Police Awards Ceremony, led by Interim Chief of Police Jay Matelis. 👮‍♂️🏆

Mayor Shlomo Danzinger, Vice Mayor Dayana Benmergui, Commissioner Gerardo Vildostegui and Commissioner David Weingot joined in recognizing the brave men and women of the Surfside Police Department for their dedication, service and commitment to keeping our community safe. 💙

🌼🐝 Get to Know the Garden: Part 2 is here!

In this second video installment, Commissioner Gerardo Vildostegui highlights the Great Southeast Pollinator Census and puts Flamingo Garden to the test.

The challenge? Watch one blooming plant for 15 minutes and count every pollinator that lands. Commissioner Vildostegui counted an incredible 138 honeybee landings in just 15 minutes! 🐝

This pollinator activity is exactly why Surfside is investing in native plant landscaping. Through the 2025 Viva Florida Landscape Demonstration Garden grant from Florida Wildflower Foundation, the Town reimagined Flamingo Garden with Florida native plants designed to support pollinators, local wildlife and sustainable coastal landscaping. 🌿🌸
