The Surfside Police Department joined the Miami Beach Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Unit during a coordinated outreach operation aimed at locating individuals experiencing homelessness and connecting them with available resources and shelter options.🚔

This partnership provided Surfside officers with a valuable learning opportunity to observe and better understand the outreach process, engagement strategies, and the comprehensive network of services available to assist those in need. The experience reinforced the importance of a compassionate, collaborative approach to addressing homelessness and supporting vulnerable members of the community.🙏🏻

On May 19, Surfside-based organization provided local teens with a unique behind-the-scenes look at the world of television news during a special Career Day visit to WPLG Local 10 in Dania Beach. Led by founders Constanza Dominguez and Marianne Dominguez, the group included Surfside teens along with other participants from the organization. Surfside Tourism Director Frank Trigueros was also on hand to support the occasion and celebrate the educational opportunity made available to local youth. A special thank you to Mayte Padron and the entire WPLG team for their kindness and hospitality!

This week, we proudly recognize Code Enforcement Officers’ Appreciation Week and celebrate the dedicated professionals who help keep our community safe, clean and beautiful.

Thank you to Code Compliance Director Carmen Santos-Alborná, Code Compliance Officer Kimberly Ruvin, and Code Compliance Officer Emmanuel Santana for their commitment to preserving the quality of life that makes Surfside such a special place to live, work and visit.

Through education, collaboration and service, our Code Compliance team works every day to protect public health, safety and neighborhood standards while helping residents and businesses navigate Town regulations.

For the month of May, we are proud to recognize Officer Arch for his outstanding dedication and more than 30 years of service to the Town of Surfside and our community 🚨

Officer Arch began his career with the Town in 1993 as a Parking Enforcement Officer before attending the police academy and becoming a police officer in 1996. He currently serves as a day shift patrol officer 🚓

Throughout his career, Officer Arch has held several roles within the department, including detective in the Criminal Investigations Unit, member of the Traffic Unit, and acting patrol supervisor. His professionalism and commitment have earned him numerous commendations and Officer of the Month awards, including recognition for the apprehension of a burglary suspect 🏆

Outside of work, Officer Arch enjoys volunteering at community events and bringing smiles to children by dressing up for special occasions. As he looks ahead to retirement, he plans to spend more time traveling and enjoying life with his family ✈️🌆

Twenty years of dedication, heart and service. 💙

At the May 26 Special Commission Meeting, the Town proudly recognized Virginia Agramonte, Assistant to the Parks and Recreation Director, for 20 years of service to the Surfside community.

Surrounded by her husband, past colleagues, current team members and friends, Virginia was celebrated for the lasting impact she has made on generations of residents, families and staff through her kindness, professionalism and commitment to the Town.

As Virginia retires at the end of May, we extend our deepest gratitude for everything she has contributed over the past two decades. Her care for this community and the people in it has left a meaningful mark on Surfside that will not be forgotten.
