The Stanley Valley Fire Department is proud to announce the successful completion of multiple equipment upgrades through funding provided by the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office Grant Program.

Through this grant, our department received approximately $51,000.00 in funding that allowed us to purchase new turnout gear for five of our firefighters, upgraded handheld and in-car radios, as well as additional firefighting equipment including ground monitors and adapters.

These upgrades directly improve firefighter safety, communication capabilities, and operational readiness while helping us better serve the citizens and visitors of Stanley Valley and the surrounding communities.

Members of the Stanley Valley Fire Department were proud to participate in the Hawkins County EMS “Tour of the Valleys” Spring Safety Tour alongside several outstanding local, State, and regional agencies.

This event focused on bringing important safety resources directly into our communities through child passenger safety education, overdose awareness and naloxone resources, and hands-on community CPR training.

Our personnel enjoyed spending time with the students, teaching fire safety, emergency awareness, and allowing them to explore our apparatus and equipment up close.

What started as a beautiful Thursday quickly turned into a steady downpour, but that didn’t stop training at the 2 House in the Longs Bend Community.

This evening, members of the Stanley Valley Fire Department continued hands-on training despite the weather conditions. Situations like this are exactly why we train in all environments, because emergencies don’t wait for perfect weather.

Earlier this month, the Stanley Valley Fire Department was alerted to a wildland fire that was spreading up the steep mountain terrain.

The fire was contained without issue or injury.

Striggersville Fire and Carter’s Valley Fire assisted with the suppression efforts.

We know what day it is… so let’s go ahead and clear this up now.

If you check your mailbox this week and see a letter from the Stanley Valley Fire Department asking for a donation… no, it is not an April Fools joke. We promise.

This is our annual donation mailout, and it is 100% legitimate. As a volunteer department, we rely on the support of the community to keep trucks running, equipment up to date, and personnel trained and ready to respond when you need us.

If you do not receive a letter and still want to donate, you can follow the instructions at the bottom of the flyer to contribute.

We appreciate the support.

The Stanley Valley Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank everyone who participated in the recent flag retirement ceremony held at Station 1.

After our station flag was damaged during a recent storm, the Enforcers Motorcycle Club, Hawkins County Chapter, stepped up and offered their assistance to ensure it was properly retired and replaced. We are grateful for their support and partnership in honoring the American flag with the respect it deserves.
