One day you blink, and you’re no longer the young kid growing up in this city; you become one of the people entrusted with making it better for the next generation.

The challenges are great, but the opportunities are even greater. I believe in this city, I believe in our community, and I believe in my friend Jaxon and his generation.

As promised, I wanted to provide you with an important update regarding the final phase of the 163rd Ave Expansion project.

The final phase of this project will kickoff on June 1st and will focus on the section of roadway from Happy Valley Road to Jomax Road. Work is expected to last nearly 15 months.

I want to thank those of you who were able to come out to our informational meeting last month. For those of you who weren’t able to make it, don’t worry, I am going to make sure you all have the info you need to stay informed and up to date as the work progresses.

I will continue to provide important updates via my social media and other channels. I’ve also worked closely with staff and the contractor working on the project to create a dedicated webpage that will continue to provide information and updates on the project.

In kitchens and living rooms across our country sits an empty chair, a loved one’s special spot that only they could occupy, a constant reminder for those who bear the true weight of the cost of freedom.

Today, we honor those who wore the uniform and the families who bear the burden of that sacrifice. Let’s pause and remember those who bravely wore the uniform to defend us and our way of life. Let us keep those they left behind in our thoughts, and let us never stop striving to live a life worthy of their sacrifice 🇺🇸

Just wanted to give you all a quick heads up on some maintenance work that will be performed by ADOT next week.

ADOT is advising they plan to do some maintenance work on the southbound Loop 303 on-ramp at US 60/ Grand Avenue. While they complete that maintenance work there will be some restrictions.

On ramp will be narrowed to one lane from 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, to 5 a.m., Wednesday, May 27th.

Yesterday, neighbors from District 1 and I took our monthly community meeting on the road to visit our Public Works Operations Center.

I want to thank everyone who came out, as well as Kristin, Eric, and their team, for giving us an inside look at what they do.

There are several folks, the unsung heroes, who work day and night to keep our city running and to ensure our residents are not impacted. They respond, whether it’s 3 p.m. or 3 a.m., to make sure we continue to maintain a high level of service for our residents. I’m thankful for them and their commitment to our city and those who call it home. Thank you for having us!
