🎓🐾 Congratulations to the Surry County High School Class of 2026! 🐾🎓

The Surry County Board of Supervisors and County Leadership were honored to attend this year’s graduation ceremony and celebrate the remarkable achievements of our graduating seniors.

This outstanding class of 42 graduates has earned more than $3 million in scholarship offers, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and bright futures ahead.

We would also like to extend special congratulations to Zariah Harrell, Student Ambassador to the Board of Supervisors and Valedictorian of the Class of 2026. Zariah’s leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to serving her community have made Surry County proud.

To all of our graduates: as you begin the next chapter of your journey, know that your community is cheering you on every step of the way. Whether your path leads to college, military service, career opportunities, or new adventures, we wish you continued success and happiness.

Today, Surry County honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is a time to pause in gratitude for those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day. We recognize the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our fallen service members, and we extend our deepest respect to the families, friends, and loved ones who carry their memory forward.

As we gather with family and community this holiday weekend, may we also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and honor those who never returned home. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

The Surry County Board of Supervisors has approved an extension of the June 5, 2026, due date for Personal Property Taxes.

Payments made on or before June 15, 2026 will not incur penalty or interest charges.
