These photos popped up in my Facebook memories from our 2008 Surry Caucus. We had a great crowd that day, neighbors showing up, voices being heard, and real community in action. Sadly, many of the people pictured are no longer with us. But their presence still matters. They helped shape this town, this party, and this moment in time.

It’s a reminder that civic engagement is a legacy we pass forward. Every generation carries the torch a little farther. Grateful for those who came before us, and optimistic about those who are stepping up now.

The Surry Republican Committee kicks off the 2026 Election cycle!

The 2026 Caucus will take place Saturday, January 31 at 10:00 am at the Old Surry School.

This is where you belong if you are a Republican in Surry and want to get off the sidelines and make a difference. This is where local Republicans organize, choose leadership, and set the direction for the year ahead.

Voter registration cards will be available if you need to register to vote or if you wish to change your registration from Independent to Republican.

We hope to see you there!
