today's the day, Libraryketeers! Summer Reading kicks off at 11. Be sure to get a reading log and start keeping track! Extra logs will be available at the desk beginning tomorrow, and will be downloadable from our website lassenlibrary.org
ALSO: the final turn-in date for reading logs is 5 pm TUESDAY, AUGUST 4. After that, logs will not be accepted or counted.

gutted to hear of the passing of Jane Yolen today. An absolute literary titan, she published over 400 books, most of them children's books. Many of you with Junior Libraryketeers are probably most familiar with the "How Do Dinosaurs" series, but I encourage y'all to check out her other books or even just take a walk down memory lane over at

2041by hatfield13 Twelve original stories by such sf authors as Connie Willis and Susan Shwartz and Joe Haldeman. This saw the first publication of my own much reprinted sf short story, “The Ear.”

Hola! Ms Jenn here. Don't miss our first summer reading program! Our amazing library director Heather will explain how the program works and will hand out the reading logs. After Friday the reading logs will be avaliable on our website to download or come onto the library and grab one. We will be playing strawberry bingo and making fruit salad. Happy Summer everyone!
