Hello everyone,
The results of our monthly Eagle Lake measurement this afternoon show that the lake level has risen 0.17 ft. (2.04 in.) over the past month. This puts the lake level at an elevation of 5095.18 ft. as measured at the low water ramp at Gallatin. Unfortunately, this elevation is 0.02 ft. (0.24 in.) below where the lake was one year ago at this time. Overall, this winter and spring have generated an increase in the lake level of 1.63 ft., which is equivalent to 19.56 inches. 💦
Pine Creek is still flowing, although the flow is significantly less than last month, as can be seen in the attached photo. Also attached is a photo of the fish ladder at Pine Creek, where you will see that the flow is significantly less than last month as well.
Also attached are photos of the boat ramps located at Gallatin and Spaulding. We received a request to start taking photos of the ramp at Spaulding instead of Stone’s, which we thought was a good idea, so we will start including a photo of the ramp at this location.
Lastly, astute viewers will notice that there were two people fishing in the photo taken at the Gallatin ramp. My partner promptly notified them that Eagle Lake is currently closed for fishing, so they quickly packed up and headed out. They claimed that they had no idea that the lake was closed. Apparently, the complete lack of other fisherman and absence of boats did not provide any clues for them!
Please let me know if anyone has any questions or needs further information.
Sincerely,
Don Willis
