Rules of Engagement

The goal of using Facebook by the Sutherland Public School District (SPSD) and teachers or sponsors associated with SPSD is to share important information with our public and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. To help us accomplish this goal we ask that you abide by the following guidelines:

• Engage in open conversation not personal issues. This page is not intended

to circumvent regular communication channels for sharing personal issues and concerns. Comments regarding a personal issue with the District or staff member will be removed.

• Be Respectful. Personal attacks or comments that are deemed offensive to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate remarks and profanity will be removed.

• Want to boost your product sales? Publish a personal page, and leave ours for sharing news and insights about our District and activities.

• Stay on topic. This is a page dedicated to the education of students in the SPSD. Let’s keep the conversation related to our District and activities. Comments of all kinds are welcome so long as they directly relate to our District or Activities.

• Have a question for a specific employee? Fans should not expect responses to every question or comment posted on this page.

• Be aware of the mission. The mission of the SPSD is education. Please be certain that your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and fans of all ages.

• Be factual. Blatantly inaccurate information will not be allowed. False information will be removed and factual information will be posted.

• Employees of the SPSD may have personal pages. Don’t be surprised or offended if your request to “friend” them is ignored. District policy encourages staff to keep their personal lives personal.

• This page is yours and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your views about the SPSD or activities. Just know, abuse of the above guidelines can lead to removal of a specific posting or the blocking/removal from our fan page.

Summer Fun!! This Summer the Sailor boys and girls basketball teams will challenge students in all grades to get shots up.
Thanks to Snow White's donation if you are outside shooting hoops there is a chance you could win an ice cream cone!! There is a form to print off and fill out. Have your student keep track of shoots and there could be more prizes to come in the winter!!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 6th and join us at Railroad Park in Sutherland for an afternoon of fun while supporting the Sutherland Volleyball Team!

At 4:00 PM, we’ll be holding a LIVE AUCTION featuring TWO custom Sutherland Sailor-wrapped coolers. These one-of-a-kind coolers are perfect for Sailor fans and make an awesome addition to your home, tailgate, or lake days. Come ready to bid and help support our volleyball program!

Before the auction, be sure to get in on the excitement of our Rubber Duck Race at 11:00 AM. Every duck purchased helps raise money for the Sutherland Volleyball Team, and you could have a chance to win cash prizes while supporting a great cause. You don’t have to present to win- please contact Samantha Steffes if you’d like to purchase a ticket.

The Scarlets went to the CheerU Camp in Hershey on Thursday and Friday where they learned correct forms and techniques to start us out strong with our cheers, jumps and stunts! They learned so much and overcame obstacles as a team. Eva Nutter and Marley Reeves were acknowledged during the awards ceremony. We are so incredibly proud of how much work they all put into these two days and cannot wait to show everyone what these girls can do at the first game of the season!
