A Sutter Creek Labor Day Weekend tradition is back! 🚒❤️🎶 Join us for the Sutter Creek Fire Dinner Dance “Fireman’s Ball” on Saturday, September 5 at 5:30 PM at the Sutter Creek Fire Station!

🏛️ City Manager Update | There’s a lot happening in Sutter Creek! City Manager Tom is back with the latest on projects, improvements and upcoming events happening throughout our community.

A few highlights from this update include:

🚧 Sutter Hill Road construction is well underway and is expected to remain closed for much of August, with the City working to reopen it sooner if possible.

🛣️ Recent paving improvements have been completed around town, with additional traffic-calming improvements planned in the months ahead.

❄️ The auditorium has new cooling upgrades, including swamp coolers funded in part by generous community donations.

🛝 Minnie Provis Park improvements are underway, including refreshed playground equipment, new sensory play features, a more accessible rubberized surface and a new bicycle pump track currently being constructed at Bryson Park.

🏗️ The City is also moving forward with additional community projects, including cleanup work, museum improvements and continued efforts to secure state and federal funding for the wastewater plant.

📋 In all, the City has more than 30 capital projects planned or underway during the 2026–27 fiscal year!

Plus, mark your calendars for the Fireman’s Ball on September 5 Sutter Creek Fire Dinner Dance and the Sutter Creek Car Show on October 11. 🎉

🚧 Sutter Creek Road Detour Update | August 17–19
Please plan ahead if you’ll be traveling through the Sutter Hill Road area next week. Additional road detours will be in place Monday, August 17 through Wednesday, August 19, from approximately 7 AM–4 PM while construction crews complete paving work on Sutter Hill Road.

Drivers should be aware of the following traffic restrictions:
• Eureka & Old Ridge: Closed to westbound traffic
• Sutter Hill Rd & Old Ridge Rd: Closed to northbound traffic
• Bryson: Closed to eastbound traffic

Please follow all posted detour signage, allow a little extra travel time and refer to the map in this post for additional details.

🚧 Public Notice: Upcoming Road Striping on Gopher Flat | The City of Sutter Creek will be completing centerline traffic lane striping along Gopher Flat from Main Street to the City Limits on Wednesday, August 12, from 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. Work is expected to take one day and will help refresh lane markings and improve roadway safety.

Drivers are asked to slow down, use extra caution, follow posted signage and obey directions from flaggers and work crews while traveling through the area. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important work is completed.

Please save and share this notice with anyone who regularly travels Gopher Flat.

And just like that, the 2026 Historic Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival is in the books. 🎶✨ From the incredible music and talented performers to the lively streets, welcoming local businesses and everyone who came out to celebrate, this year’s festival was such a special reminder of what makes Sutter Creek so memorable.
As we look ahead to future events, we’re also continuing to support the Sutter Creek Auditorium air conditioning fund to help make the space cooler and more comfortable for everyone. So far, $15,000 has been raised toward the $35,000 goal, an amazing start.

It’s kind of chic to listen to ragtime music in Sutter Creek. 🎶✨ Day 2 of the Historic Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival is in full swing for the evening, filling our little Gold Rush town with live music, history and a whole lot of vintage charm. 🤎

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Additional Road Detours and Closures 🚧 Please plan ahead for temporary road closures on Tuesday, August 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while construction crews work at the intersection of Eureka Road and Sutter Hill Road.

Traffic restrictions will include:
• Eureka Road at Old Ridge Road: Closed to westbound traffic
• Sutter Hill Road at Old Ridge Road: Closed to northbound traffic
• Bryson Drive: Closed to eastbound traffic

Access will remain available for local residents and emergency services. All other drivers should follow posted detours, allow extra travel time and use an alternate route when possible.

Energy bill relief may be available for eligible PG&E customers. Through the Match My Payment Program, qualifying customers can receive a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $1,000 toward past-due energy bills.

Additional support may also be available through REACH and other income-qualified assistance programs.

Funding is limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents are encouraged to check their eligibility and apply while funds remain at visitpge.com/billhelp.
