I wrote a letter to the Editor in our local newspaper a few weeks ago under the title "Too Much to Overlook." I shared my opinion on Donald Trump's comments about Medal of Honor recipients. I said it showed his disrespect for people who had given every last measure of service to our country, and I take it personally, since my Dad was a highly decorated veteran of WWII and Korea. I shared what he did to earn the Silver Star. (And of course, this was before DJT held his little advertising escapade at Arlington National Cemetery.) This week, a gentleman named Harry Allen wrote a rebuttal of sorts under the title "Too Much Embellishment" and accused me of lying, said my Dad couldn't have done what I said, and said my "war story" was, to not cut too fine a phrase, all bu****it. If any of you reading this know Harry Allen, you might send him this picture. As you can see, I pretty much quoted the commendation. You might disagree with me on whether Trump is an as***le or not, but don't disrespect my father's service.
