THANK YOU SUTTER CREEK

Earlier this evening the Sutter Creek Police Foundation held its first fundraiser dinner.

The 170 guests were treated to fantastic food from Motherlode Deli, great Sutter Creek wines, and motivating dance entertainment!

Your support of the event was heartwarming to us. A special thanks goes out to Al and Kristina Casias, Daniel and Amanda Rego, and Tamara for taking the planning and ex*****on to incredible heights.

We are proud to be your hometown police department.

Thank you,

WORKING THE BEAT IN SUTTER CREEK!

Small town policing across this great country emphasizes frequent and meaningful connections with the community.

Today SCPD Officer Daniel Rego had a very memorable citizen contact!

You never know what you’re gonna see here in Sutter Creek!

WAGON TRAIN ROLLS THROUGH SUTTER CREEK

Yesterday the wagon train made a much anticipated stop in Sutter Creek.

In addition to the members of the Kit Carson Mountain Men Wagon Train, Sutter Creek was graced with the beauty and elegance of the honorary Sutter Creek Grand Marshal, Margaret! She was celebrating her 102nd birthday and made a great day even better!

You never know what you’re gonna see in Sutter Creek!

Come on down!

THANKS,

POLICE VOLUNTEERS GIVING BACK TO SUTTER CREEK AND CONTRIBUTING TO SAFETY

Recently Wayne Woodard and Kelly Peters, esteemed members of the Sutter Creek Police Department and long tenured Police Volunteers, attended a Police Volunteer conference in Northern California.

RECKLESS DRIVER SPENDS EASTER IN JAIL

Early this morning Sutter Creek Police tried to make a traffic stop for a registration violation.

As the officer tried to approach the vehicle took off and led the officer on a pursuit through Sutter Creek.

In his zeal to escape, the driver drove the vehicle off of the road and onto an embankment.

The 20 year old driver was taken into custody and later determined to be almost three times over the legal limit.

There were minors in the car as well. The driver was booked for child endangerment, DUI and felony evasion. The minors were released to adult family.

JOINT OPERATION A SUCCESS

Last week SCPD learned from citizens that a store in town was selling THC products to minors in Sutter Creek.

SCPD contacted the Amador County Combined Narcotics Enforcement Team (ACCNET), who advised that they had also been made aware of the ongoing crimes at that location.

ACCNET, SCPD and other partners worked together to gather additional information and to prepare an operational plan.

ACCNET authored a warrant to allow the business to be searched. When the warrant was executed, the combined groups located hundreds of illegal drug products. The items were seized and the owner was arrested.

A huge thank you to ACCNET for their willingness to help in our community and for their expertise and partnership. We also tip our hats to the California Highway Patrol, the Amador County District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Cannabis Control, California Department of Public Health, and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration.

We appreciate those who came forward. If you see something, say something, and here in Amador County, we will hear you!

MASKED BURGLAR TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND THEN RELEASED 🦝🦝🦝🤣

Last night SCPD was dispatched to a home on a complaint of a masked intruder who was rummaging for food.

With the help of Sutter Creek Fire and Jackson PD, SCPD Officer Jim McKeon was able to effect the arrest and then make a compassionate community release!

Well done to Officer McKeon and the other first responders who did a great job as animal control officers!

KEEPING OUR ROADS SAFE

Last night SCPD made a traffic stop at Highway 49 at Valley View.

During the on scene investigation officers determined that the passenger had a DUI probation violation warrant out of Placer County.

The 25 year old Roseville resident was taken into custody and booked.

This is a dangerous intersection. Please be mindful and cautious. Slow for the yellow, stop for the red and you won’t have any problems!
