The Braxton County Sheriff's Office will be conducting physical agility testing at the Braxton County High School at 10:00am on Saturday, May 16, 2026. UPDATE!! THE UPGRADE DID NOT TAKE AS LONG AS EXPECTED! WE ARE BACK UP AND RUNNING!!

The Braxton County Tax Office will be closed on Friday, April 17th from Noon to 4pm. Our tax collecting system is getting a much needed upgrade. Therefore, we will be unable to collect taxes, look up tax information, and print tax receipts.

This upgrade will also affect the Braxton County Assessor's Office. They will be open, but will be limited to what information they can access. We advise you to call 304-765-2805 before you come.

ATTENTION BRAXTON COUNTY TAX PAYERS!!

This is a courtesy reminder to help you avoid publication fees and additional interest on your 2025 taxes due. Taxes remaining unpaid after April 30, 2026 will be subject to additional interest and publication fees. These charges will be added on EACH outstanding tax ticket. Taxes can be paid in our office located in the Braxton county courthouse at 300 Main Street, Suite 103, Sutton, online at www.wvpropertytaxes.com, or by mail to 300 Main Street, Suite 103, Sutton, WV, 26601.
