We’re inspired to see schools across the country being recognized for expanding educational opportunity and empowering students through school choice. Arete Scholars is especially proud to celebrate our partner schools, SOAR Academy Augusta in Georgia and St. Mary's Academy, in Louisiana, for receiving national recognition and awards for the incredible impact they’re making in the lives of students and families every day. Join us in congratulating MaKensie, the 2026 Arete Scholars Graduate of the Year!

A graduate of Pope John Paul II Catholic High School in Louisiana, MaKensie has made a lasting impact through academic excellence, leadership, and service. From completing more than 100 hours of community service to serving as Youth of the Year with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Louisiana, she has consistently led with compassion, determination, and purpose.

As she prepares to pursue a degree in Biological Science, MaKensie is driven by a passion to create meaningful change in healthcare and serve others through her future career.

“The path ahead excites me because I know exactly why I am walking it. I want to be part of the change I have spent my life waiting for. I am not just stepping into a profession. I am stepping into my purpose.”

We are proud to celebrate all MaKensie has accomplished and can’t wait to see the difference she will continue to make in the future. Congratulations, MaKensie!

Thirty children will have the opportunity to attend summer camp for the first time because of yesterday’s Embrace for Good event.

What a gift.

For these Arete Scholars, camp is more than a fun week. It is a formative experience that helps children build character, grow in confidence, form friendships, experience something new, and continue their personal journey to achieving their Arete.

We are so grateful for everyone who came out to support Arete Scholars and help make this possible.

Guests helped raise money by taking Lincoln test drives. Lincoln donated $50 per test drive, and a generous Arete supporter matched every dollar raised.

And we had a lot of fun along the way - amazing food from Tacos & Tequilas, Lincoln’s Rejuvenate chair massage feature, games, music, and plenty of excitement inside Dave & Buster’s.

A heartfelt thank you to the businesses and community partners who helped make this event possible:

Sydney Kuester, Rob Childs, and Angela Krause Lincoln
Jason Bradshaw and the Dave & Buster's team
Yessica Rebolledo and La Bonanza / Tacos & Tequilas Mexican Grill
Christy Hulsey and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce team

And thank you to the Rotarians from Roswell, Alpharetta, North Fulton, and South Forsyth Rotary Clubs who joined us as guests, took test drives, and helped make summer camp possible for Arete Scholars.

This is what community looks like.

Fun cars. Great food. Strong community. Real impact.
