The City of Suwanee is expected to begin work next week on a sidewalk improvement project that will connect existing sidewalks on Martin Farm Road to an existing trail on King Street and improve the intersection of those two roads. During construction, please be mindful of intermittent lane closures that may be necessary.

Keep the project in mind when traveling in the area and be prepared for minor delays. The project is expected to be completed this winter, weather permitting.

If you're looking for some live music to enjoy this weekend, you can visit Everetts Music Barn this Saturday, October 24, for their Fall Festival!

It's going to be another wonderful weekend here in Suwanee with tons of fun happening on Saturday!

On Saturday morning, be sure to head over to Town Center on Main and support our local farmers and vendors at the Suwanee Farmers Market from 8 am until noon. It's a good chance to say hi to your neighbors and stock up your pantry!

Later at 5 pm, Dinner & a BOOvie will be happening in Town Center Park! The spooky evening will begin with trick or treating down Town Center Avenue with our merchants, so be sure to come dressed up in your Halloween costumes. Our double feature movie night will bring Scooby Doo on Zombie Island and the live action Scooby Doo into the park!

Last week, the Suwanee Police Department had the opportunity to participate in a Law Enforcement Career Fair at the UNG - University of North Georgia!

Our police officers enjoyed connecting with students, sharing insights into careers in law enforcement, and meeting aspiring students that may be the next generation of police officers. In just under two weeks, on October 31, the Walk to End Alzheimer's will be happening in Town Center Park!

This nationwide cause is brought to Suwanee by the Alzheimer's Association, where walks are organized in support of research, care, and awareness for Alzheimer's disease. If you've ever been strolling along the trails in Sims Lake Park, you may have noticed that we have our very own You "Rock" Garden!

This interactive exhibit was created by our own Suwanee Youth Leaders a little over a year ago! If you're looking for a fun weekend activity, try painting a cool design on your own rock and bring it to the park so that you can add it to the growing collection!

Most recently, the students of North Gwinnett High School's LEO Club added some of their own positivity to the You "Rock" Garden. Thanks to the students, and to anyone else who contributes to the garden, for spreading positivity and kindness in our Parks & Trails system!

Dinner & a BOOvie returns to Town Center Park next Saturday, October 24!

This evening is all about festive fun, and we hope to see everyone show up in their Halloween costumes as we'll have trick-or-treating with Town Center merchants beginning at 5 pm. You can bring the whole family around and say hi to some local businesses while collecting treats to enjoy later in the evening!

Our double feature movie night starts at 6 pm with Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island followed by the live action Scooby-Doo. Bring a blanket to get comfortable and grab dinner from a Town Center merchant or any of the food vendors that will be on-site! It's going to be a night to remember!

This is the last week to donate to the City of Suwanee's Food Fight with Sugar Hill! This friendly rivalry has brought our communities together each year to collect donations to benefit the families served by the North Gwinnett Cooperative!

Here in Suwanee, we've been happy to see so many residents and local businesses alike bringing in donations for the Food Fight! We especially want to thank the Imperial Gems and Mitsubishi Electric locations here in Suwanee! There's still time to get involved! Bring your donations to the Suwanee Police Department or the Suwanee City Hall anytime this week between 8 am and 5 pm.
