🩵 World Breastfeeding Week | August 1–7, 2026 🩵

Each year, World Breastfeeding Week brings communities around the world together to celebrate, protect, and support breastfeeding. This global observance highlights the many health benefits breastfeeding provides for both babies and mothers while encouraging families to have the support they need to succeed.

This year's theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," reminds us that when we invest in proven support systems, we help families build healthier futures.

At the East Central Health District WIC Program, we're committed to strengthening what works by providing:

👩‍⚕️ Resources to help families every step of the way

Throughout World Breastfeeding Week, we'll celebrate breastfeeding families and recognize the dedicated WIC staff and community partners who make a difference every day.

Come see us from 4:00–7:00 PM during Open House! We’ll be at SHS, SMS and ECI providing state-required school vaccines for students who need them before the new school year.

District 6 WIC Nutrition Services will provide fresh fruit and vegetable benefits to eligible, active WIC participants at the Emanuel County Health Department.
