Our 4th-grade gifted scholars took a deep dive into moon phases by crafting their own interactive lunar predictor wheels. But they didn't stop in the present—they put on their historian hats to compare the Mayan Lunar Calendar with the Babylonian lunisolar calendar, connecting ancient sky-watching directly to the Gregorian calendar we use today. Watching these young astronomers decode the cosmos and connect centuries of timekeeping has been out of this world!

Our 3rd-grade gifted geologists turned into master chefs as they cooked their way through the rock cycle! Students whipped up original recipes to mimic how igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks form deep in the Earth, then "hacked" those recipes to transform one rock type into another. To top it all off, they designed (and devoured!) edible sedimentary rocks, mapping out layers and sediments with total precision. Safe to say, learning has never tasted so good!

Our 5th-grade gifted scientists took cell biology to a whole new scale by designing their very own "Cell Cities"! Students assigned city roles to key organelles—like placing the nucleus in the mayor’s office—and created official travel brochures to tour their micro-metropolises. To cap off the unit, they brought animal cells to life using everyday snacks. Safe to say, these brilliant minds gave us plenty to cell-ebrate!

Today was a special day at SES as we celebrated our Beta Club Induction and Recognition Ceremony! 💙🌟

We are so proud of our 4th grade Beta Club members who were officially inducted and our 5th grade Beta members who were recognized for their continued commitment to scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

These students have worked hard to earn this honor, and we know they will continue to represent SES with excellence. Congratulations to all of our Beta members! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see the positive difference you continue to make! 🎉👏
