📣 It's official: Automated Trash and Recycling Collection is coming to Swampscott this summer!

Stay tuned for more information, in particular regarding the delivery of a town-issued 95-gallon recycling cart that each (eligible) household will receive. (Note: there are no changes to your existing 35-gallon trash cart that you will continue to keep and use).

A friendly reminder that napkins, paper towels, tissues, and similar paper products do not belong in your recycling bin.

These items can contaminate recyclable materials and create challenges during the recycling process.

Please place used napkins and paper towels in the trash.

Join us this weekend for our Electronic Recycling Event! We'll be here all weekend to help recycle old electronics and take the burden off your hands.

Join on Saturday, May 30th from 9am - 2pm, or Sunday, May 31st from 9am - 12pm to drop your things off! Scan the QR code to see a list of acceptable items, as well as recycling fees.

All funds from this event go directly into the school. We appreciate the support from our MCCPS Community!

We can - and should - do better. Thankfully, most people who enjoy our beaches already do!

But when groups intentionally leave this amount of trash behind, it’s important to remind the public that littering is not only disrespectful to our community and environment, it is also a violation of Massachusetts law and can, and should, result in fines.

A couple of upcoming Trash & Recycling Dates:

♻ HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: Curbside trash & recycling pick-up is delayed by one day this week due to the Memorial Day holiday

♻ METAL RECYCLING AND STYROFOAM DROP-OFF: Saturday, May 30th (8AM to 12PM) at the DPW Lot on Paradise Road

♻ YARD WASTE CURBSIDE PICKUP: week of June 1st on your trash day

♻ HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION: for Swampscott/Marblehead residents on Saturday, June 13 from 9AM to 12PM at Marblehead Transfer Station.
